Mission and Outreach Team

The Missions/Outreach Committee provides opportunities to become involved in outreach programs in the community.

Some of their activities include Adopt-A-Family, parties for Bishop Davies Nursing Home, and the Angel of Giving program which provides Christmas for needy families.

Mission Trips

Mission Teams support our diocesan companion relationships through prayer and actions:

  • Mission to Cambodia is about building relationships with Christians who are planting the Church in Cambodia and supporting the work of Summer Twyman in Cambodia. Daily Prayers for the people of Cambodia are encouraged.
  • Mission to Northern Malawi is about building relationships with the Anglican Diocese of Northern Malawi and assisting with the funding of diocesan programs and during major relief efforts. Daily Prayer for the people of Northern Malawi are encouraged.
  • Mission to La Gran Familia continues to maintain the relationship with La Gran Familia, an orphanage in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, that is affiliated with the neighboring Anglican Church Cristo Rey and with some of the parishes and missions in the Juarez area. Teams form in late January or early February to begin a discernment process and team building. This mission provides support for the orphanage of La Gran Familia through funding, prayer, and regular team visits to assist the work of the orphanage and the care of the children.

A mission group traveling on these missions normally consists of families with children being 16 years of age or older, youth 16 years of age or older, and adults. Our ministry usually consists of painting, possible light construction, and hosting a Vacation Bible School.
