Father Hadley Golf Tournament
The annual Father Hadley Gold Tournament is held in early October each year.
This is the primary fund raiser for the St. Vincent’s Community Youth Ministry. The namesake of the tournament is Father Hadley, the original Dean of St. Vincent’s Cathedral.
The tournament started in 2003 and continues a strong tradition by raising $5000-$10000 per year. We are blessed to have participants, volunteers, and sponsors from around the Diocese.
The St. Vincent’s Community Youth Ministry is about forming life-long disciples of Jesus Christ and is a significant ministry at the Cathedral. The funds raised through the golf tournament are used to help send students on mission trips and various other discipleship camps and conferences in the area.
In terms of the actual golf tournament, the format is a four-person scramble so golfers of all abilities can enjoy the day. There are contests for longest drive, straightest drive, and closest to the pin. The winners get trophies and bragging rights for year! We usually have 50-80 golfers and 3-5 volunteers.
